I’ve been playing the “answers” game for a few months now and many people have asked about building “hits” on their web sites by using blogs and getting on lists.

I’ve played with that stuff, even done the “pay per click” thing with Google and folks like that.

My company provides a permission based broadcast email service. So it’s a great tool for direct marketing. I’ve read all the literature about email marketing and can give lots of advice from first hand experience and from what I’ve read. But I’m still serching for the rest of the puzzle.

Can anyone tell me who are the best Business To Business (B-2-B) blogs or lists?

And what do you do when you get there?

Perhaps some good reference material I can read?

Is blogging a bad way to make money?

I’m starting to think, after 18 months, that blogging is a horrible way to make money. My ROI in terms of time and money spent is almost nil. I make pennies on adsense and that’s it.

So the problem. I’m at a crossroads. I have about 200 subscribers, PR 3, and about 200 visitors per day and I’m thinking about scaling up the blog. Adding a forum, writing an ebook in exchange for email and name, using aweber to build an email list, affiliate marketing, etc, go nuts basically. But this niche does not allow me to show myself, pics, videos because it could hurt me in the ‘real world’. So I feel limited.

So I have a choice start all over with a new blog project in a different niche were it is ok (i.e. socially acceptable) to show myself and not worry about hiring/job problems or something later and have the ability to brand myself. And I’d like to select a bigger niche with more potential.

OR

Say ***** it and go in a completely opposite direction and go to ebay and amazon and try retail (although given the economic state who knows).

Man I am frustrated. Your detailed thoughts please.
I have a full time day job.

I will be going to school in the fall to study to be a Natural Health Specialist. Also my husband and I are marketing executives for a company called Melaleuca.

We have a website regarding our Melaleuca business. I’ve been thinking about starting a blog about natural health & wellness and write blog posts a couple times a week. I’m also thinking about having people email me question they have about certain health & wellness topics then talk about it in the blog. Basically it would be like a Q & A type thing.

My question is would this be a good idea for a blog? How would I get people to notice and read my blog?

$20 for Creative Marketing?

Would anybody be willing to pay $20 for a consultation for creative / cheap marketing for their business?

I am thinking about starting that type of business. My client would email me answers to a questionnaire with questions about their business and personality type, then I would come up with creative and inexpensive marketing techniques that they could try.

I would invoice through paypal, and additional services could be included (for an additional charge) like ad copy, website / blog copy, etc.

What do you think, and do you believe this would be something that small business owners would be interested in?

I want to create a group on real estate agents so we can share leads, opportunities and market information. A blog won’t do it, facebook won’t either, and an email alias/group there is no way to track information easily…and creating or bulding an app from scratch doesn’t make much sense either.
